Indicator B6: Percent of population, aged 15 and older, that uses tobacco products.<br />
Rationale: Tobacco use is among the key risk factors contributing to the main<br />
chronic disease categories in BC, and one of the five health risk targets for the BC<br />
Government, according to ACTNOW BC.<br />
Data source: ACTNOW BC data is based on Canadian Community Health<br />
Survey conducted every two years.<br />
Desired direction: Decrease percent of population that uses tobacco products.<br />
Indicator B7: Percent of total population (18 and older) that is obese/overweight.<br />
Rationale: Obesity is among the key risk factors contributing to the main chronic<br />
disease categories in BC, and one of the five health risk targets for the BC<br />
Government, according to ACTNOW BC.<br />

two years.<br />

the main chronic disease categories in BC, and one of the five health risk targets<br />
for the BC Government, according to ACTNOW BC.<br />
Data source: ACTNOW BC based on Canadian Community Health Survey every<br />
two years. Data are based on an index of average daily physical activity over the<br />
past three months.<br />
Desired direction: Increased percent of population considered active or<br />
moderately active (burning more than 1.5 kcal/kg/day).<br />
