Corrective Actions<br />

DoD has implemented a<br />

process to identify<br />

occupations and function<br />

groups with skill gaps and<br />

to develop corrective action<br />

plans to remediate<br />

identified gaps. The process<br />

includes conducting internal<br />

and external environmental<br />

scans <strong>of</strong> political actions,<br />

legal policies, needed<br />

workforce skills,<br />

organizational goals and<br />

constraints, impacts to the<br />

workforce, and strategic<br />

roles in accomplishing the<br />

mission and executing<br />

strategy. The scan<br />

determines current<br />

workforce supply, evaluates<br />

future demand for filling<br />

current and new positions,<br />

analyzes recruitment and<br />

retention <strong>of</strong> data, develops<br />

forecasts using data<br />

provided by Functional<br />

Community Managers, and<br />

conducts skill gap analyses<br />

to identify strategies for<br />

skill gap closure.<br />
