<strong>GEM</strong>s with resolution factor 1 behave like RPCs. For increasing factor <strong>the</strong> point resolution decreases inversely<br />
proportional. On <strong>the</strong> top muons are reconstructed with <strong>the</strong> Global <strong>Muon</strong> algorithm, while on <strong>the</strong> bottom <strong>the</strong>y are<br />
reconstructed with a dedicated algorithm aimed to cle<strong>an</strong> up muon detection layer affected by bremsstrahlung. The<br />
r.m.s. <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> momentum distributions are used to derive <strong>the</strong> resolutions shown on <strong>the</strong> two right plots, while <strong>the</strong><br />
results described in <strong>the</strong> two left plots are obtained by using <strong>the</strong> vari<strong>an</strong>ce <strong>of</strong> Gaussi<strong>an</strong>s fitted in <strong>the</strong> core <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
distributions. The straight continuous lines are <strong>the</strong> resolution <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Tracker <strong>an</strong>d CSC <strong>Muon</strong> systems. The dashed<br />
lines are <strong>the</strong> results obtained by adding on <strong>the</strong> first station a layer <strong>of</strong> <strong>GEM</strong>s <strong>an</strong>d RPC on <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r three stations.<br />
The dotted lines are <strong>the</strong> per<strong>for</strong>m<strong>an</strong>ces measured when <strong>GEM</strong>s are used in <strong>the</strong> two inner stations <strong>an</strong>d RPC are used<br />
