8.2 Checking the Emergency Stop Switch<br />

Prerequisites <strong>Generator</strong> shut down<br />

Procedure Follow the procedure below to check the emergency stop switch.<br />

1. Open the large hinged panel. Locate the emergency stop switch (a).<br />

2. Place the emergency stop switch in the de-activated (out) position.<br />

3. Check the connections of the wiring to the emergency stop switch. Make sure all<br />

connections are tight.<br />

4. Measure the voltage between red wire #20 and ground.<br />

Is at least 9.8 VDC measured?<br />

Yes ____ No ____<br />

Continue. Check condition/connection of red wire #20 to terminal strip.<br />

5. Measure the voltage between yellow #45 and ground.<br />

Is any voltage measured?<br />

Yes ____ No ____<br />

The emergency stop switch has failed; replace it. Continue.<br />

6. Place the emergency stop switch in the activated (in) position.<br />

7. Measure the voltage between yellow #45 and ground.<br />

Is at least 9.8 VDC measured?<br />

Yes ____ No ____<br />

The emergency stop switch is OK. The emergency stop switch has failed;<br />

replace it.<br />

The emergency stop switch has now been checked. Continue with Section 8.3<br />

Checking the Lug Door Switch.<br />
