6.10 Chamfer (G39)<br />

In machining operations it is possible (using G39) to chamfer corners between two straight lines,<br />

without having to calculate intersection points.<br />

Function G39 is not modal, so it should be programmed whenever the chamfering of a corner is<br />

required.<br />

This function should be programmed in the block in which the movement whose end you want to<br />

chamfer is defined.<br />

The R5.5 value should always follow G39. It also indicates the distance from the end of the<br />

programmed movement as far as the point where you wish to carry out the chamfering. This R value<br />

must always be positive.<br />

Example programming the X axis in diameter.<br />
