9.2 G68. X axis roughing canned cycle<br />

This cycle machines the programmed profile maintaining the indicated step between consecutive<br />

machining passes. Triangular, round and square tools may be used in this cycle.<br />

The basic structure of the block is as follows:<br />

G68 X Z C D L M K F H S E Q<br />

X±5.5<br />

It sets the X coordinate of the profile's starting point. It must be programmed in absolute coordinates<br />

and in the active units, radius or diameter.<br />

Z±5.5<br />

It sets the Z coordinate of the profile's starting point. It must be programmed in absolute coordinates.<br />

C5.5<br />

It sets the machining pass and is programmed with a positive value given in radius. If programmed<br />

with a 0 value, the <strong>CNC</strong> will display the corresponding error message.<br />

All the machining passes will be run with this step, except the last one that will remove the residual<br />

stock.<br />

D 5.5<br />

It sets the safety distance the tool withdraws after each pass.<br />

When programming D with a value other than 0, the cutter withdraws at 45º until reaching the safety<br />

distance (left figure).<br />

When programming D with a 0 value, the exit path is the same as the entry path. This may be useful<br />

to groove complex profiles, to use these cycle on cylindrical grinders, etc.
