6.15 Feedrate "F" as an inverted function of time (G32)<br />

There are instances when it is easier to define the time required by the various axes of the machine<br />

to reach the target point instead of defining a common feedrate for all of them.<br />

A typical case may be when a linear axis (X, Z) has to move together (interpolated) with a rotary<br />

axis programmed in degrees.<br />

Function G32 indicates that the "F" functions programmed next set the time it takes to reach the<br />

target point.<br />

In order for a greater value of "F" to indicate a greater feedrate, the value assigned to "F" is defined<br />

as "Inverted function of time" and it is assumed as the activation of this feature.<br />

"F" units: 1/min<br />

Example: G32 X22 F4<br />

indicates that the movement must be executed in 1/4 minute; i.e. in 0.25 minutes.<br />

Function G32 is modal and incompatible with G94 and G95.<br />

On power-up, after executing M02, M30 or after an Emergency or Reset, the <strong>CNC</strong> assumes G94<br />

or G95 depending on the setting of general machine parameter "IFFED".<br />

Considerations<br />

The <strong>CNC</strong> variable PROGFIN will show the feedrate programmed as an inverted function of time and<br />

variable FEED will show the resulting feedrate in mm/min or inches/min.<br />

If the resulting feedrate of any axis exceeds the maximum value set by machine parameter<br />

"MAXFEED", the <strong>CNC</strong> will apply this maximum value.<br />

The programmed "F" is ignored on G00 movements. All the movements will be carried out at the<br />

feedrate set by axis machine parameter "G00FEED".<br />

When programming "F0" the movement will be carried out at the feedrate set by axis machine<br />

parameter "MAXFEED".<br />

Function G32 may be programmed and executed in the PLC channel.<br />

Function G32 is canceled in JOG mode.<br />
