Collaborative Work on 3D Educational Content The third direction for future work is further studying the design <strong>of</strong> educational environments within 3D CVEs. This direction will include exploring the dem<strong>and</strong>s <strong>of</strong> educational simulations <strong>and</strong> serious games. The work in this direction has already started within a pilot project Cultural Awareness in Military Operations in collaboration with the Norwegian Armed Forces <strong>and</strong> the University <strong>of</strong> Oslo. The fourth direction is further exploration <strong>of</strong> the support for learning communities in 3D CVEs. This direction might include studying new ways <strong>of</strong> using 3D CVE affordances for supporting creative communities <strong>and</strong> Communities <strong>of</strong> Interest in a cross-disciplinary <strong>and</strong> multi-cultural context. More studies can be conducted strengthening the ‘Universcity’ framework by implementing other infrastructure elements <strong>and</strong> testing them as it was done with the Virtual Science Fair. 64
