Things to do before upgrading<br />
To successfully complete an upgrade, prepare your environment and make sure you have the<br />
minimum <strong>ePolicy</strong> <strong>Orchestrator</strong> version. Review this content before beginning your upgrade.<br />
You need to perform the following tasks:<br />
• Review the unsupported products list.<br />
• Back up all <strong>ePolicy</strong> <strong>Orchestrator</strong> databases.<br />
• Back up the entire <strong>ePolicy</strong> <strong>Orchestrator</strong> directory.<br />
• Disable any remote Agent Handlers in your environment.<br />
• Turn off Windows updates before you begin your upgrade.<br />
• Make sure that you have read, understood, and complied with the requirements and<br />
recommendations detailed in <strong>Installation</strong> requirements and recommendations before you begin the<br />
upgrade.<br />
<strong>ePolicy</strong> <strong>Orchestrator</strong> version <strong>5.0</strong> must be installed on a 64‐bit platform, unlike previous versions.<br />
Minimum <strong>ePolicy</strong> <strong>Orchestrator</strong> upgrade versions<br />
Only these existing <strong>ePolicy</strong> <strong>Orchestrator</strong> versions can upgrade to <strong>ePolicy</strong> <strong>Orchestrator</strong> <strong>5.0</strong>:<br />
• <strong>ePolicy</strong> <strong>Orchestrator</strong> 4.5 Patch 6 or later<br />
• <strong>ePolicy</strong> <strong>Orchestrator</strong> 4.6 Patch 4 or later<br />
