Back up <strong>ePolicy</strong> <strong>Orchestrator</strong> databases and directories<br />

Before you upgrade your software, back up all <strong>ePolicy</strong> <strong>Orchestrator</strong> databases, as well as the <strong>ePolicy</strong><br />

<strong>Orchestrator</strong> directory.<br />

Disable remote Agent Handlers before upgrading<br />

If you're upgrading from <strong>ePolicy</strong> <strong>Orchestrator</strong> 4.X and you use remote Agent Handlers in your<br />

environment, disable them to successfully complete your upgrade.<br />

When your remote Agent Handlers are disabled, you can upgrade your server. Once complete, you<br />

also need to upgrade your Agent Handlers. See Upgrading remote Agent Handlers for more<br />

information.<br />

Task<br />

For option definitions, click ? in the interface.<br />

1 Open the Handler List page: in the <strong>ePolicy</strong> <strong>Orchestrator</strong> interface, click Menu | Configuration | Agent<br />

Handlers, then click Agent Handlers in the Handler Status monitor.<br />

2 In the Handler List page, click Disable for each remote Agent Handler you have installed.<br />

3 Log on to the system where the Agent Handler is installed, then open the Windows Services panel<br />

and stop the <strong>McAfee</strong> Event Parser and <strong>McAfee</strong> Apache services.<br />
