Aerosoldosenindustrie mit neuen Produktionsrekord
Mit einer weltweiten Produktion von
6,93 Milliarden Dosen hat die Aluminium-Aerosoldosenindustrie
2012 ein
weiteres Rekordergebnis erzielt. Die
Nachfrage stieg gegenüber dem Vorjahr
um fünf Prozent. Während sie in den
vergleichsweise gesättigten EU-Märkten
mehr oder weniger konstant blieb, legten
die Ablieferungen nach Asien, Nord- und
Südamerika sowie in den Mittleren Osten
stark zu.
Die Aluminium-Aerosoldosenindustrie kann
auf eine beeindruckende Entwicklung zurückblicken:
In den letzten sechs Jahren brachte sie
es auf ein durchschnittliches Wachstum von
sieben Prozent. Besonders dynamisch entwickelte
sich die Nachfrage nach Deos (+8.5%),
Haarsprays (+6%), Arzneimitteln (+17%) und
Haushaltsprodukten (+14%). Die Ablieferungen
an die Lebensmittelindustrie und in den
Markt für Haarschäume ging dagegen um
7.5 bzw. 3 Prozent zurück. Die Branche ist
jedoch zuversichtlich, dass der Lebensmittelsektor
in den kommenden Jahren noch großes
Wachstumspotenzial bietet.
Im vergangenen Jahr wurden weltweit in
größerem Umfang neue Produktionskapazitäten
installiert, um für weiteres Marktwachstum
gerüstet zu sein und die Lieferzeiten in
akzeptablen Grenzen zu halten. Auch im diesem
Jahr werden noch weitere Kapazitäten
hinzukommen, zeigt sich Aerobal-Präsident
Takaaki Takeuchi überzeugt: „Insbesondere
in Märkten mit vielversprechenden Marktaussichten
wie Indien und China werden die
Produktionskapazitäten weiter ausgebaut.
Aerosoldosen erfreuen sich in diesen Märkten
einer zunehmenden Beliebtheit, und mit
steigenden verfügbaren Einkommen werden
sich mehr und mehr Verbraucher Aerosoldosen
leisten können, die in diesen Regionen
immer noch als Luxusgut betrachtet werden
müssen.“
Insgesamt werden die Marktaussichten für
2013 zufriedenstellend eingeschätzt, obwohl
Vorhersagen extrem schwierig geworden
sind in einem Markt, der von Kurzfristigkeit
bei Auftragserteilung und Lieferzeiten sowie
kleineren Losgrößen gekennzeichnet ist. Falls
die wirtschaftliche Lage in den beiden größten
Aerosolmärkten Europa und Nordamerika
stabil bleibt, ist es sehr wahrscheinlich,
dass die Weltproduktion die Schallmauer von
sieben Milliarden Aluminium-Aerosoldosen
in diesem Jahr durchbrechen wird.
Aerosol can industry with new production record
With a world production volume of 6.93
billion cans the aluminium aerosol can
industry achieved another record in 2012.
Demand increased by five percent yearon-year.
Whereas demand in the relatively
saturated EU market was more or less
flat, deliveries to Asia, North and South
America, and the Middle East increased
significantly.
The aluminium aerosol can industry can look
back to an impressive development: the industry
achieved an average growth rate of
seven percent over the last six years, which
was ensured by lively demand for deodorants
(+8.5%), hairsprays (+6%), pharmaceuticals
(+17%) and household products (+14%).
Deliveries to the food and shaving foam markets
dropped by 7.5 and 3 percent respectively.
However, especially in the food market
there still is good potential for growth in the
next few years.
A significant amount of new production
The member companies of etma, the European
tube manufacturers association, increased their
production again in 2012, up 1% to 10.33bn
units. However, “one should not overestimate
the increase in production,” says Monika Kopra-
Schäfer, etma’s president. There is continued
pressure on margins despite increases in productivity,
in-plant cost-cutting programmes and
optimisation in the supply chain.
capacities was installed worldwide in 2012
in order to prepare the ground for further
growth and to keep delivery times in acceptable
limits. And there is more to come this
year. “Especially in markets with promising
growth prospects such as India and China
capacities will be further expanded. Aerosol
cans have become increasingly popular in
these areas, and with rising disposable incomes
more and more consumers will be able to afford
aerosol cans which still have to be considered
as a kind of ‘luxury’ product there,”
says Takaaki Takeuchi, president of Aerobal.
In general, market prospects for 2013 are
satisfactory although forecasts have become
extremely difficult in a market which is characterised
by short-term order placing and
delivery times as well as smaller lot sizes. If
the general economic situation in Europe and
North America, the two biggest aerosol markets,
stays stable it is very much likely that
world production will exceed the level of 7
billion aluminium aerosol cans this year. ■
european tube industry remains on a growth path
It is difficult to predict what will happen in 2013,
she says. The overall economic situation in Europe
is still very tense and the picture is clouded
by continuing cost increases, particularly for
energy and raw materials.
The shares of the different tube types in total
production remained almost unchanged: aluminium
tube has a share of just over 40%, while
plastic and laminate rank equal, with 30% each.
