ALUMINIUMwALzINDUSTRIe
Was ist
daraus geworden?
Denken Sie an flexible Verpackungen, in denen Alufolie
will the first Asian manufacturer become a member of your association?
Mertens: Our membership structure is and remains clearly European-based.
But naturally, our member companies are active in the
aluminium foil market outside Europe and globally. Ultimately, our
customers are also often groups with worldwide activities.
Schutz / Blister packs – the absolute barrier of aluminium foil ensures perfect
protection
Glimm: In fact we have requests from companies outside Europe
which would gladly become members of EAFA, but that is not the
direction in which we want to proceed. Rather, we aspire to a global
platform and network to which interested companies can contribute
in the context of concrete projects. At EAFA we are always glad
to play a leading role in such networks, the more so since hardly
any other association has the competence to organise any such thing.
That commitment is gladly accepted by our industry; thus, at the last
Glafco EAFA was appointed Global Foil Network Leader.
ALUMINIUM: Are any new network projects being specifically considered?
Glimm: One suggestion could be, for example, to establish a global
foil packaging competition along the lines of the Alufoil Trophy which
is organised by EAFA.
