Personalized Career Studies<br />
Associate in Applied Science Degree – TECH.AAS.C49<br />
The Personalized Career Studies degree is available to students whose business or technical degree goals cannot<br />
be met through another KCC program. Also, the degree is intended to target emerging career areas which cross<br />
traditional boundaries. Students in the program will design an interdisciplinary degree by combining courses from<br />
business and/or technology offerings. A minimum core requirement of general education credit hours must be<br />
completed as well. To best fit the student’s educational and career goals, it is required that participating students<br />
select courses with the assistance of KCC faculty, advisers and other business professionals. Consult an academic<br />
adviser for program eligibility requirements. Personalized Career Studies graduates are generally prepared to enter<br />
personalized career studies programs at selected colleges and universities with junior status.<br />
Communications (2 courses) Credit hours: 6<br />
Choose two courses from the following:<br />
* ENGL <strong>10</strong>53 - Communications I<br />
* ENGL 1413 - Fundamentals of Writing<br />
* ENGL 1613 - English I<br />
* ENGL 1623 - English II<br />
BSNS 1603 - Business Communications<br />
Humanities, Social and Behavioral Science,<br />
Science or Mathematics Elective (3 courses) Credit hours: 9<br />
Choose three courses (minimum of 9 credit hours) from humanities, social and behavioral science, science<br />
or mathematics (see Page 60).<br />
Business and Technical Electives (15 courses) Credit hours: 43<br />
Choose 43 credit hours from business or technology courses.<br />
Internship (1 course twice) Credit hours: 6<br />
*BSNS 2423 - Internship Experience must be completed twice to fulfill the required 480 hours of internship<br />
experience. To enroll in BSNS 2423, students must have completed 16 or more credit hours in Business or<br />
Technology electives, under the direction of a KCC adviser.<br />
