Advanced Certificate in Welding Technology – WELD.CRT.C83<br />

The Welding certificate curriculum is designed to develop within the student practical skills in drafting, tungsten<br />

inert gas welding, metal inert gas welding, stick electrode welding, oxyacetylene welding, oxyacetylene cutting<br />

and oxyacetylene brazing.<br />

Welding Technology core (7 courses) Credit hours: 27<br />

DRFT 1154 - Technical Drafting & Print Reading<br />

MCHN 1214 - Machine Tool I<br />

WELD 1114 - Basic Welding<br />

* WELD 1124 - Advanced Arc Welding<br />

WELD 1263 - Metallurgy & Heat Treatment<br />

WELD 2124 - Tungsten Inert Gas Welding<br />

WELD 2224 - Metallic Inert Gas Welding<br />

Technical Elective (2-6 courses) Credit hours: 5<br />

Choose two to FIVE courses (to attain five credit hours) from any course with the prefix AIRC, AUTO,<br />

CNST, DRFT, DSGN, ELTR, MCHN or WELD.<br />

Certificate Options in Welding Technology<br />

It is possible for a student to take a small grouping of courses which, taken as a unit, may satisfy requirements<br />

for a particular position within the welding field. The student may submit a written application to the Office of<br />

Admissions and Registration to receive written verification of completion of the certificate program.<br />
