MGMT 3372 Operations Management. (3) Spring<br />

A study of the application of the science of management in the operations<br />

management environment. Primary emphasis placed on the theories,<br />

principles, and tools that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the<br />

operations manager.<br />

Prerequisites: MGMT 2200, ECON 2200, ACCT 2211<br />

MGMT 3374 Interpersonal Relations in Organizations. (3)<br />

On demand<br />

A study of human interaction in the organization context. Topics to be<br />

covered include self-concept, frames of reference, values and attitudes,<br />

barriers and breakdowns in communications.<br />

Prerequisite: MGMT 3370 or consent of instructor<br />

MGMT 3376 Managing Human Resources. (3) On demand<br />

The study of the basic principles and functions of effective personnel<br />

administration and human resource management. Extensive use is made of<br />

the case method of study. Students gain experience looking at personnel<br />

problems, individually and as members of groups.<br />

Prerequisite: MGMT 3370 or consent of instructor<br />

MGMT 3377 Career Management. (3) On demand<br />

This course is designed to help guide students through the process of<br />

preparing for a career. Topics to be covered include experiences and<br />

activities that enhance employability, resume preparation, cover, and thank<br />

you letter development, identifying skills needed for a job, question and<br />

answer preparation, and effective interviewing techniques.<br />

Prerequisite: declared business or accountancy major<br />

MGMT 3385 Management Information Systems. (3) On demand<br />

This course is designed for future managers who need to understand and<br />

critically evaluate the role and potential contribution of information<br />

technology for their organizations, and understand and effectively apply<br />

various computerized support systems to make better decisions.<br />

Prerequisites: MGMT 2200, ECON 2200, ACCT 2211<br />

MGMT 3388 Research Methods. (3) On demand<br />

Focuses on the survey research process and the analysis of data. Covers<br />

topics such as problem definition, research design, sampling techniques,<br />

questionnaire development, data collection methods and data analysis.<br />

Prerequisites: MGMT 2200, ECON 2200, ACCT 2211, MATH 1114<br />
