GENERAL INSPECTION PROCEDURES <strong>HANDBOOK</strong> CHAPTER 2<br />

Item 8.b. Work Group Identifier. Enter the 2-digits of the work group identifier of<br />

the Lead AR who is performing the inspection when this work group is not the<br />

work group with the assigned responsibility.<br />

Item 9. Company Name. This entry must be identical to the company name<br />

contained in the current mine status record.<br />

Item 10. <strong>Mine</strong> Name. This entry must be identical to the mine name contained in<br />

the current mine status record.<br />

Report Type. This section identifies segments of inspection reports.<br />

1) Item 11.a. First. Check this box if the report is the first partial submittal of a<br />

report for long-term inspection activity.<br />

2) Item 11.b. Interim. Check this box to identify intermediate report segments for<br />

long-term inspection activity.<br />

3) Item 11.c. Last. Check this box to identify the final report segment for longterm<br />

events, which should be retained as the cover page for the completed<br />

inspection report.<br />

4) Item 11.d. Not Applicable. Check this box for all reports for one-day events,<br />

which should be retained as the cover page for the completed inspection<br />

report.<br />

Item 12. Areas of Inspection. Items 1 (Item 12.a.) through 12 (Item 12.l.) identify<br />

the area(s) inspected or visited during this activity. Each of these boxes must<br />

contain an entry-positive (checkmark for area(s) inspected) or negative (leave<br />

unchecked).<br />

1) Item 12.a. Active Sections. Sections that are producing coal. The number of<br />

producing sections inspected/visited must be entered.<br />

2) Item 12.b. Idle Sections. Sections that are not producing coal. The number of<br />

nonproducing sections inspected/visited must be entered.<br />

3) Item 12.c. Outby Areas. All underground areas excluding sections. Enter<br />

positive (check mark) or negative (leave unchecked).<br />

4) Item 12.d. Shafts/Slopes. Existing shaft <strong>and</strong> slope openings. Enter positive<br />

(check mark) or negative (leave unchecked).<br />

5) Item 12.e. Surface Areas (UG). All surface areas of an underground mine that<br />

are required to be inspected, such as preparation plants (associated with<br />

Release 1 (February 2013) 2-15
