these meeting were published in the Mobile-Press Register two Sundays prior to<br />

each <strong>of</strong> these meetings. <strong>CIAP</strong> staff also sought input through the state’s CZM<br />

program through solicitation <strong>of</strong> project ideas from CZM staff and in a specific<br />

request for input and review from the <strong>Coastal</strong> Resources Advisory Committee<br />

(CRAC). The CRAC is a legislatively defined organization and is supported by<br />

the CZM program.<br />

Below is a comprehensive list <strong>of</strong> all public <strong>CIAP</strong> planning activities. At each<br />

<strong>of</strong> these meetings, the public was given ample opportunity to comment and<br />

provide input. In addition, several federally-approved plans were consulted<br />

during the project list development including the Mobile Bay National Estuary<br />

<strong>Program</strong> <strong>Coastal</strong> Comprehensive and Management Plan and the <strong>Alabama</strong><br />

<strong>Coastal</strong> Area Management <strong>Program</strong> document. Public participation was an<br />

integral component in the development <strong>of</strong> these two plans. Below is a list <strong>of</strong> all<br />

public meetings and/or public notifications.<br />

o January 9, 2007, the Baldwin County Commission discussed the <strong>CIAP</strong><br />

at a regularly scheduled work session.<br />

o March 2, 2007, Baldwin County distributed its newsletter, Planning<br />

Horizons, advertising the <strong>CIAP</strong> public meeting.<br />

o March 6, 2007, a public information meeting was held at 6:00 pm at<br />

Five Rivers <strong>Alabama</strong>’s Delta Resource Center. Thirty-two (32) people<br />

attended this meeting. This meeting was advertised in the Mobile-Press<br />

Register and the Baldwin Register on February 24, 2007 and March 4,<br />

2007.<br />

o April 4, 2007, <strong>CIAP</strong> staff met with and informed representatives with<br />

The Nature Conservancy and the Friends <strong>of</strong> Bon Secour National<br />

Wildlife Refuge <strong>of</strong> the <strong>CIAP</strong> program.<br />

o April 4, 2007 <strong>CIAP</strong> staff met with and informed representatives from<br />

the Geologic Survey <strong>of</strong> <strong>Alabama</strong> <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Alabama</strong> <strong>CIAP</strong> <strong>Program</strong>.<br />

o April 10, 2007, the Baldwin County Commission discussed the <strong>CIAP</strong> at<br />

a regularly scheduled work session.<br />

o April 17, 2007 <strong>CIAP</strong> program staff met and informed representatives<br />

from the Organized Seafood Association <strong>of</strong> <strong>Alabama</strong> <strong>of</strong> the <strong>CIAP</strong><br />

<strong>Program</strong>.<br />

o April 19, 2007 Mobile County Commission discussed and reviewed<br />

Mobile County’s Tier 1 and Tier 2 project lists at an Agenda Meeting.<br />
