The <strong>State</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Alabama</strong>, Baldwin County, and Mobile County<br />

Decision-Making Process for Selecting Projects<br />

Since the Energy Policy Act was approved by Congress in 2005, the <strong>State</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>Alabama</strong>, Baldwin County, and Mobile County have met regularly to develop the<br />

<strong>Alabama</strong> <strong>CIAP</strong>. The regular meetings have been instrumental in discussing eligible<br />

<strong>CIAP</strong> projects. In addition to other administrative functions, these meetings were<br />

helpful in discussing each entity’s <strong>CIAP</strong> needs. For example, a partnership to<br />

construct and implement real time continuous water quality monitors in the coastal<br />

waters <strong>of</strong> <strong>Alabama</strong> resulted from these meetings. A list <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Alabama</strong> planning<br />

meetings is below:<br />

o July 17-18, 2006 the <strong>Alabama</strong> <strong>CIAP</strong> team met separately in Reston,<br />

Virginia during Grant Guidelines Workshop sponsored by the Minerals<br />

Management Service.<br />

o September 7, 2006 the <strong>CIAP</strong> Planning team met at 10:00 am at South<br />

<strong>Alabama</strong> Regional Planning Commission <strong>of</strong>fices at 110 Beauregard<br />

Street in downtown Mobile.<br />

o October 4, 2006 the <strong>CIAP</strong> Planning team met at 2:00 pm at South<br />

<strong>Alabama</strong> Regional Planning Commission <strong>of</strong>fices at 110 Beauregard<br />

Street in downtown Mobile.<br />

o November 8, 2006 the <strong>CIAP</strong> Planning team met at 10:30 am at South<br />

<strong>Alabama</strong> Regional Planning Commission <strong>of</strong>fices at 110 Beauregard<br />

Street in downtown Mobile.<br />

o December 6, 2006 the <strong>CIAP</strong> Planning team met at 10:30 am at South<br />

<strong>Alabama</strong> Regional Planning Commission <strong>of</strong>fices at 110 Beauregard<br />

Street in downtown Mobile.<br />

o January 10, 2007 the <strong>CIAP</strong> Planning team met at 10:30 am at South<br />

<strong>Alabama</strong> Regional Planning Commission <strong>of</strong>fices at 110 Beauregard<br />

Street in downtown Mobile.<br />

o February, 7, 2007 the <strong>CIAP</strong> Planning team met at 10:30 am Five Rivers<br />

<strong>Alabama</strong>’s Delta Resource Center in Spanish Fort, <strong>Alabama</strong>.<br />

o March 22, 2007 the <strong>CIAP</strong> Planning team met at 2:00 pm at Five Rivers,<br />

<strong>Alabama</strong>’s Delta Resource Center<br />

o June 4, 2007 the <strong>CIAP</strong> Planning team met at 10:30 am at Five Rivers<br />

<strong>Alabama</strong>’s Delta Resource Center in Spanish Fort, <strong>Alabama</strong>.<br />
