SCHOOL BREAKFAST PROGRAM<br />

The Food and Child Nutrition Services breakfast program operates under the United States Department of<br />

Agriculture guidelines as administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture. The UDSA through the<br />

TDA reimburses the program for each reimbursable meal served in accordance with established rates.<br />

Meals are reimbursed based on the actual number of eligible free, reduced, and paid students. Campuses<br />

that serve 40% or more of their lunches to eligible free/reduced students qualify for severe need<br />

reimbursement under the <strong>School</strong> Breakfast Program. All <strong>San</strong> <strong>Antonio</strong> ISD campuses qualify for the<br />

severe need reimbursement of $0.29 for each free and reduced breakfast served based on identified<br />

free/reduced students. For the <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>2012</strong> school year, reimbursable breakfast rates have increased by<br />

2.39% from school year 2010-<strong>2011</strong>. Current and historical reimbursement rates for the <strong>School</strong> Breakfast<br />

Program are provided below.<br />
