San Antonio ISD has shown steady and consistent growth on the Texas Assessment of
Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) tests which are administered annually over the past several years.
For the 2011 school year, scores increased in Math and Science and Social Studies. Social
Studies, Writing and Reading decreased by one percentage point.
The district was rated Academically Acceptable for 2011 based on the academic scores along
with the Completion and Dropout rate calculations.
Students in grades 3 through 11 take the Reading/ELA (English Language Arts) and
Mathematics tests every year. Students take Science at 5th, 8th, 10th and 11th grades; Social
Studies in 8th, 10th and 11th; and Writing in 4th and 7th grades.
