GLOSSARY OF FUNDS<br />

This glossary contains the names and descriptions of the funds operated by the <strong>District</strong>. The glossary is<br />

arranged alphabetically.<br />

100% Campaign - Children's Defense Fund<br />

The 100% Campaign is a systematic school-based health outreach model designed to identify and link<br />

uninsured children to the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and Children's Medicaid.<br />

AFT-Alliance Grant<br />

Funds from the <strong>San</strong> <strong>Antonio</strong> Alliance for educational programs and to assist in the marketing process for<br />

each charter campus.<br />

Adult Education - English Literacy and Civics Education<br />

To assist adult parents to obtain the educational skills necessary to become full partners in the educational<br />

development of their children. And to assist adults to become literate and obtain the knowledge and skills<br />

necessary for employment and self-sufficiency.<br />

Advanced Placement Incentives<br />

Advanced Placement Funds awarded for academic enhancement purposes.<br />

After <strong>School</strong> Challenge Program<br />

These funds are through an interlocal agreement with the City of <strong>San</strong> <strong>Antonio</strong>. These funds provide for<br />

recreational and educational opportunities for children in the community after school hours.<br />

Algebra Readiness<br />

The purpose of the Algebra Readiness grant is to implement programs that increase the preparedness of<br />

middle school students to meet standards and pass future assessments in Algebra I.<br />

ARRA Title XIV SFSF - State Fiscal Stabilization Fund<br />

ARRA (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009) funds are to target one or more of the<br />

following critical reform areas: increase efforts to institute rigorous post-secondary standards and high<br />

quality (valid, reliable) assessments, enhance pre-kindergarten to post-secondary data systems that track<br />

progress and foster continuous improvement, continue to improve teacher effectiveness and support the<br />

equitable distribution of qualified teachers; and, expand the state's support and effective interventions for<br />

the lowest performing schools.<br />

Beginning Teacher Induction and Mentoring Program<br />

Funds to establish or enhance a beginning teacher induction and mentoring program designed to increase<br />

retention of beginning teachers. <strong>District</strong>s are allowed to assign a qualified mentor teacher to each<br />

classroom teacher who has less than two years of teaching experience.<br />
