How was the course helpful <strong>to</strong> you in your recovery?<br />

It was helpful in the sense that it helped me <strong>to</strong> meditate and I’m<br />

meant <strong>to</strong> be doing that for my 11 th step.<br />

It’s helped me <strong>to</strong> stay more in the present moment I’m not as<br />

stressed because I’m more relaxed and clear headed, not miles ahead<br />

or behind (myself)<br />

How could the course have been more helpful <strong>to</strong> you?<br />

The long body scan at the start could’ve been shorter, <strong>to</strong> build things<br />

up more gradually. More yoga and <strong>to</strong> start it earlier in the course The<br />

homework – like a journal, you can look over how you’ve changed<br />

during the week, like keeping yourself in check and on the ball… <strong>to</strong><br />

be aware of your behaviour and how you’re reacting so you can<br />

change in time before drastic consequences.<br />

What was a key moment in your experience of the course?<br />

I really liked the yoga.<br />

I liked how we chatted about things, the friendly atmosphere; it was<br />

never awkward or uneasy.<br />

What was the most challenging part of the course for you?<br />

The long periods of meditation and the body scan… trying <strong>to</strong> stay<br />

mindful without daydreaming.<br />

What impact has the course had on:<br />

(1) Dealing with your addiction and cravings<br />

I’m doing the 11th step so it helped by helping me <strong>to</strong> meditate, <strong>to</strong> do<br />

the 11th step. It’s definitely helped, without a doubt, the combination<br />

of both (the 12 steps and the <strong>Mindfulness</strong>). Tony seems <strong>to</strong> have a<br />

good understanding of the steps.<br />
