How was the course helpful <strong>to</strong> you in your recovery?<br />

Very. The information… I was practicing a bit of meditation before<br />

so it confirms that and gives me motivation.<br />

It’s very simple, not a complex thing, but sometimes I worry if I’m<br />

doing it right I think it’s going <strong>to</strong> prove itself over time versus getting<br />

a huge dramatic result, but I expect it’s going <strong>to</strong> help me a huge<br />

amount… it’s a process, you evolve with the process<br />

How could the course have been more helpful?<br />

At the start, the body scan, the length of it put me off. Initially it was<br />

<strong>to</strong>o slow but introductions have <strong>to</strong> be made, settling down other than<br />

that was great.<br />

Were there any key moments for you during the course?<br />

I remember feeling ‘oh yeah, this is it at one stage’, I felt high,<br />

brilliant, but it didn’t last. One thing important <strong>to</strong> say is that I was on<br />

Prozac, when I started, now I’m not. I’m kind of stepping up <strong>to</strong> life.<br />

I’ll try it, if it doesn’t work I’ll go back – I said it <strong>to</strong> my counsellor.<br />

I’m more enthusiastic about life<br />

Something we did with Clive – the Pema Chodron CD was fantastic,<br />

I had heard it before but it made more sense <strong>to</strong> me. She was talking<br />

about “Maitri”.<br />
