1. Government grants<br />

Parent<br />

Grants received by <strong>Council</strong> in <strong>2010</strong> were as follows:<br />

• Ministry of Economic Development - $15 million towards the<br />

redevelopment of AMI stadium<br />

• Energy and Efficiency & Conservation Authority - $0.085<br />

million An energy intensive business grant towards the<br />

installation of the TriGeneration plant at the new Civic<br />

Building<br />

• New Zealand Fire Service - $0.166 million towards rural fire<br />

trucks<br />

Grants received by <strong>Council</strong> in 2009 were as follows:<br />

• Ministry of Education - $0.6 million related to support for<br />

the Upper Riccarton Library.<br />

Group<br />

In 2009 <strong>Christchurch</strong> <strong>City</strong> Holdings Ltd (parent) received<br />

$0.4 million from the Ministry of Economic Development.<br />

The grants were received to support <strong>Christchurch</strong> <strong>City</strong><br />

Networks Limited in the development of telecommunications<br />

infrastructure in <strong>Christchurch</strong>, and were used by <strong>Christchurch</strong><br />

<strong>City</strong> Holdings Ltd to purchase ordinary shares in <strong>Christchurch</strong><br />

<strong>City</strong> Networks Ltd.<br />

These amounts were recorded as revenue. The amounts<br />

recognised represent what was received during the year. There<br />

are no unfulfilled conditions or other contingencies related to<br />

this revenue.
