No impairment is provided on rates receivables as the Council has various powers under the Local Government (Rating) Act 2002 to recover any outstanding debts. An allowance has been made for estimated irrecoverable amounts from trade debtors, determined by reference to past default experience. The balance of the movement was recognised through profit and loss for the current financial year.
