A score <strong>of</strong> 85% will constitute a pass. However, the assessment leader may reasonably modify<br />

the standard, subject with the concurrence <strong>of</strong> the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. A score<br />

<strong>of</strong> 95% or better will be considered honors.<br />

Time Allotted<br />

The length and complexity <strong>of</strong> the assessment should be such that students can successfully<br />

complete the assessment within a two-hour time frame. Faculty must clearly communicate the<br />

time allotted for the assessment to the students prior to the start <strong>of</strong> the assessment.<br />

A standard schedule for summative assessment would be as follows for SP-1 students:<br />

8 am assessment begins.<br />

o Students with documented disabilities will have an early start at 7 am.<br />

o Questions requiring a written response will be distributed first, collected,<br />

and then multiple choice exams will be administered.<br />

10 am assessment ends.<br />

10 minute break.<br />

10:10 – 11:40 team assessment.<br />

Exam results will be evaluated by the faculty from 11:40-12:30.<br />

1 pm scores will be posted on Blackboard.<br />

1:30-3:30 pm Faculty review <strong>of</strong> exam with students who did not pass the<br />

assessment. Use <strong>of</strong> laptops and/or any multimedia recording device will not be<br />

permitted during the review. Students cannot remove written copies <strong>of</strong> questions.<br />

For SP-2 students:<br />

9 am assessment begins.<br />

o Students with documented disabilities will have an early start at 8 am.<br />

11 am assessment ends.<br />

10 minute break.<br />

Exams will not be returned. Any issues students have with questions should be documented on<br />

the front <strong>of</strong> the exam booklet. Following the posting <strong>of</strong> grades, students may review the exam<br />

with the course coordinator or their designee Students cannot remove written copies <strong>of</strong><br />

questions. Faculty shall not entertain requests for additional credit for any reason other than<br />

errors in scoring after the assessment review has finished and the grades have been posted.<br />
