and then multiple choice exams will be administered.<br />

11 am assessment ends.<br />

10 minute break.<br />

11:10 a.m. –12:00 p.m. reassessment review<br />

12:30 p.m. exam graded and student receives results via Blackboard.<br />

Faculty must also clearly communicate to students any changes in the standard schedule for<br />

the following times:<br />

The start time for the team assessment;<br />

The amount <strong>of</strong> time allotted for the team assessment;<br />

The start time for the assessment review;<br />

The time at which extended learning will begin on the designated extended learning<br />

day.<br />

Punctuality<br />

Students will not be permitted to enter the assessment room any later than 10 minutes after an<br />

assessment, reassessment, or extended learning assessment has begun. Unexcused lateness<br />

will be considered an unexcused absence and will result in the student forfeiting participation in<br />

that assessment. For the team assessment, failure to be present when the assessment is<br />

distributed will result in the student forfeiting his/her additional points.<br />

Seating Arrangements<br />

Faculty reserve the right to designate a pre-arranged seating order. Faculty reserve the right to<br />

move students during the assessment. Students may ask to be moved at any time prior to, or<br />

during the assessment. Granting <strong>of</strong> this request is at the discretion <strong>of</strong> the proctor.<br />

Student-Initiated Clarifications during Assessments<br />

Faculty will not answer questions during the assessment. Any clarification or confusion should<br />

be documented on the front <strong>of</strong> the exam booklet. The faculty will take these comments into<br />

consideration during the grading process.<br />

Personal Property Permitted On or About Students during Assessments<br />

Only the items clearly designated by the instructor (e.g., pencil, calculator, charts, scrap paper)<br />

are permitted at the desk. Books, notebooks, papers, handouts, and class-related materials, as<br />

well as personal items such as coats, purses, PDAs, and bookbags should not be brought to the<br />

assessment room but left at home or in the student’s locker or car. Personal items brought to<br />

the exam or left in Somerset Hall will be placed in a box in the lecture hall and returned at the<br />

convenience <strong>of</strong> the instructor AFTER the team exam.<br />

Cell-phones and Other Electronic Devices<br />

Cell-phones and any other electronic devices must not be brought to the assessment.<br />

A cell-phone found in the student’s immediate possession will be confiscated and returned<br />

after the assessment process has been completed and at the convenience <strong>of</strong> the instructor.<br />

Students should inform outside parties (e.g., spouses, children, etc.) before an assessment that,<br />

if there is an emergency during the assessment and they need to contact the student, they<br />
