The License Manager tool (MaLicMgr.exe), available in the common files<br />

directory, enables self-audit of your user base and allows you to quickly<br />

understand how to use your license. The access path is \Programs files\common<br />

files\<strong>MicroStrategy</strong>\MaLicMgr.exe.<br />

• The Web User privilege allows users to drill down on a report. Although this<br />

privilege is available to Web Viewer users in <strong>MicroStrategy</strong> 7.0 SP2, this user<br />

group will not be granted the privilege in subsequent versions of the product.<br />

In addition, the following functionality associated with Web User privileges<br />

will not be available to Web Viewer users in the future:<br />

◊ toggle view mode between grid and graph views<br />

◊ View Filter Details<br />

◊ Investigative Workflow (Drill to Template)<br />

◊ grid formatting using built-in style choices<br />

◊ Graph Interactions and Modification<br />

◊ Sorting<br />

• The Web History List privilege allows users to add reports to a history list.<br />

Although this privilege is available to Web Reporter users in <strong>MicroStrategy</strong><br />

7.0 SP2, this user group will not be granted the privilege in subsequent versions<br />

of the product.<br />

• In versions of <strong>MicroStrategy</strong> Web subsequent to 7.0 SP2, the Web Report<br />

Manipulation function will be divided into multiple capabilities, with multiple<br />

associated privileges: Web Reporter users will be able to sort reports and toggle<br />

between Page By elements; Web Analyst users will have access to full data<br />

manipulation capabilities.<br />

As the <strong>Administrator</strong>, you are responsible for administering the <strong>MicroStrategy</strong><br />

Web environment. User and group security privileges are configured through<br />

<strong>MicroStrategy</strong> Desktop, but there are a few other administrative tasks you must do<br />

in <strong>MicroStrategy</strong> Web.<br />
