Database Connection Monitor layout<br />

To view details, choose Details from the View menu. The Database Connection<br />

Monitor provides you with the following information about connections to<br />

databases from a project source:<br />

Column name<br />

Connection ID<br />

Status<br />

Database Instance<br />

Database Connection<br />

User Name<br />

Database Login<br />

Information displayed<br />

Numeric identifier for a particular connection<br />

Connections can be one of the following<br />

statuses:<br />

Busy: The connection is currently busy with a job<br />

Cached: The connection is not busy and is<br />

available to process a job<br />

The database instance being used to make the<br />

connection to the database<br />

The database connection being used to make the<br />

connection to the database<br />

When a connection is busy, this displays the user<br />

name of the person whose job is being executed<br />

The database login being used to make the<br />

connection to the database<br />

Right-clicking a connection brings up a menu with the following choices:<br />

• Quick View: Opens the Quick View for a connection.<br />

• View: Allows you to change the view.<br />

• Line Up Icons: If you are using the Large Icons or Small Icons view, this<br />

automatically arranges the icons for you.<br />

• Refresh: Refreshes the information display.<br />

• Complete information: If you are using the Details view, this displays the<br />

three additional columns described above.<br />

• Delete: Closes the selected connection.<br />
