pelvic <strong>in</strong>sertion <strong>in</strong> W. robustus, the pectoral f<strong>in</strong> extends beyond the pelvic <strong>in</strong>sertion <strong>in</strong><br />

Diagnosis. See Grande (1982). The characteristics of the species from the Waki<br />

no Subgroup do not agree with the diagnosis by Grande (1982), but the present<br />

author tentatively leaves these species under the genus Diplomyslus until further<br />

comparison with other genera and species <strong>in</strong> detail.<br />

Type species. Diplomystus dentatus Cope, 1877.<br />

Holotype. KMNH VP 100,001, an almost complete specimen, with its right side<br />

exposed, but the upper lobe of caudal f<strong>in</strong> is miss<strong>in</strong>g. The standard length is 63.0<br />

Additional specimens. KMNH VP 100,192, an almost complete specimen, with its<br />

left side exposed, but bones of the head region is slightly moved. The standard<br />

length is 42.9 mm. KMNH VP 100,193, an almost complete specimen, with its right<br />

side exposed. The standard length is 46.6 mm. KMNH VP 100,194, an almost<br />

complete specimen, with its left side exposed. The standard length is 49.4 mm.<br />

KMNH VP 100,195, an almost complete specimen, with its right side exposed, but a<br />

part of the anal f<strong>in</strong> is miss<strong>in</strong>g. The standard length is 53.7 mm. KMNH VP<br />

100,196, an almost complete specimen, with its left side exposed, but the dorsal<br />

marg<strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong> front of the dorsal f<strong>in</strong> is miss<strong>in</strong>g. The standard length is 31.7 mm.<br />

KMNH VP 100,198, an almost complete specimen, with its left side exposed, but a<br />

part of the anal f<strong>in</strong> is miss<strong>in</strong>g. The standard length is 51.4 mm. KMNH VP<br />

100,199, an almost complete specimen, with its leftside exposed, but parts of the anal<br />

f<strong>in</strong> and the caudal vertebrae are miss<strong>in</strong>g. The standard length is 36.3 mm.<br />

KMNH VP 100,200, an almost complete specimen, with its right side exposed, but<br />

parts of the anal and dorsal f<strong>in</strong>s are miss<strong>in</strong>g. The standard length is 47.3 mm.<br />

KMNH VP 100,201, an almost complete specimen, with its left side exposed, but a<br />

part of the anal f<strong>in</strong> is miss<strong>in</strong>g. The standard length is 69.6 mm. KMNH VP
