Joanna teaches a
Christmas card make and
take on the Friday night
using Aussie product and
participants crafting.
Crop Party – I think lots of people
will head down the Strip. I think I
have way too much product for the
number of people that will turn up for
the session I’m teaching. Hang on a
minute – is that a line out the door of
people waiting for our Fundamentals
Christmas Card session? So much for
thinking I’ll be out of here at 9pm. Flat
out till 11.30pm
Saturday
8:00 to 11:00am
First up this morning Layle Koncar’s
Observations class. Ooh very
technique based, misting, fussy
cutting, sewing and stamping. Two
double layouts – we’ve got our work
cut out for us. Love the embossed
cardstock. Is that Bazzill album for
me? How much product do these guys
give away? Amazing.
11:00 to 12:00pm
Back to that cafe for the best turkey
sandwich ever.
12:00 to 3:00pm
Always a fan of everything Bazzill
does. They put so much into this
industry and are just the nicest
people. Joey Otlo’s Divinely Sweet
album is cute, cute, cute. I’m so
tired though. I play around with the
chipboard cover and cover the inside
chipboard pages. I don’t scrap them,
just keep it simple. Bonus at the
end of the class is when we get a
Christmas paper pack in the same
colours – now I know what I’ll use this
album for.
3:00 to 3:30pm
More coffee for me – need to keep
these eyes open. Ann confessed to
a drink and a win on the pokies in
the casino on her return – where else
could you scrap and win money during
an afternoon tea break?
3:30 to 6:30pm
The A-Z Workshop - I’ve seen this
book of Teresa’s all weekend as other
groups completed it in class. It’s
beautiful and I love the whole idea
of creating a book from A to Z about
me. We have around seven minutes to
complete each page and then we get
to bind it in the new Provo Craft Your
Story Machine – love it! Teresa rocks
as always – this is my favourite class.
Heaps of giveaways too – my sister is
going to love some of these goodies.
6:30 to 8:00pm
Burgers and beer at Fatburger with the
girls – I reckon we deserve it. On to
the prizes and presentations - I feel so
blessed to have been in the company
of such a talented group of women,
sharing their love for things worth
remembering. I have so many ideas
and new techniques up my sleeve.
I have received such inspiration
from the last 48 hours - I’m a lucky
(albeit very tired) girl. Wondering how
I’m going to get all this stuff in my
suitcase to bring home!
Upon review these few days
recorded in my travel diary really do
summarise how I feel about papercraft
and scrapbooking 99 per cent of the
time. With papercraft, if you share the
process, the product and the passion,
you do come away with a renewed
sense of self. They say scrapbooking
is cheaper than a psychiatrist – I
now know it to be true! Inspiration
Unlimited? It certainly was. •
About Joanna
Joanna, who has been working at Fynmark
since 2002, got hooked on scrapbooking
from the first class she attended and
was designing her own products shortly
thereafter. An interest in archiving family
memorabilia inspired her to create
affordable product for the Australian
market at a time when USA products
dominated. Today her company sells
products throughout Australia and NZ,
the USA, UK and Europe. “I have the best
job in the world, designing and sourcing
product for our BELLA!, Fundamentals and
Ruby Rock-it brands,” she says.
