Grace Kelly comes to
Bendigo
The Victoria & Albert Museum’s
highly successful ‘Grace Kelly: Style
Icon’ exhibition has been secured
exclusively in Australia by Bendigo Art
Gallery.
The exhibition, which attracted
more than 200,000 visitors in the UK,
features costumes from films such as
Alfred Hitchcock’s ‘Rear Window’, plus
Grace’s haute couture gowns from
Dior, Balenciaga, Chanel and Givenchy,
alongside tailored suits and American
casual wear.
A range of glamorous special
events will be developed in association
with the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion
Festival to coincide with the exhibition.
This exceptional exhibition, comprising
more than 100 items, includes
dresses and accessories that will be
showcased in four of the gallery’s main
spaces.

The Mad Square: Modernity
in German Art 1910 – 37
This summer the National Gallery of
Victoria presents the first exhibition in
Australia to explore the radical avantgarde
art movements that emerged
in Germany during one of the most
important and chaotic periods of the
twentieth century.
The Mad Square: Modernity in
German Art 1910–37 brings together
an experimental, provocative and
utterly compelling collection of over
200 paintings, photographs, prints,
films, sculptures and decorative arts
pieces with loans from museums and
private collections around the world.

Adelaide Festival
The Festival brings the very best
in theatre, dance, opera, literature,
music, film and the visual arts to
Adelaide, turning the city into a place
of annual pilgrimage for arts lovers the
world over. The programme features
68 events, including world premieres
and Australian premieres both in the
visual and performing arts. Highlights
from the theatre program include
French screen legend Isabelle Huppert
in ‘A Streetcar’ and Tony Award winning
British actor Jonathan Pryce Harold
Pinter’s ‘The Caretaker’.

Tea Cosy Competition
Queensland’s self proclaimed Tea
Cosy capital Miles, situated 340
kilometres west of Brisbane, is again
seeking the world’s best tea cosies
for its World Tea Cosy Competition.
In previous years entries have been
received from Australia, England,
Scotland, Ireland, the United States,
South Africa, New Zealand and France.
Enter your work into one of four
categories: knitting and/or crochet,
embroidery, novelty and colour
themed. The winner of each category
receives $200, with an extra $300
to the overall winner who becomes,
therefore, the champion.
