ALL HEART
fabric & ribbon wreath
WREATH
Materials
Assorted coordinated fabrics – cotton,
organza, tulle & satin or raw silk
Assorted coordinating ribbons –
organza, satins
1m length of ribbon for hanging
Wire heart – 300mm
Scissors, tape measure
Optional - rotary cutter, cutting mat &
quilters ruler
Step 1 Cut strips from fabric and
ribbons 20cm long by 2cm wide. The
number of strips required will depend
on how full you want the wreath to
look; start with 100 strips and add
more as required.
Step 2 Tie and knot the centre
of each strip around the wire heart
shape. Tie them in a random or regular
pattern, adding more strips until
desired fullness is achieved. Twist and
fluff out strips as desired.
Step 3 Tie and knot the end of
hanging ribbon around the top middle
point of the heart, and trim the long
end of the ribbon to desired hanging
length.
A HEART FOR THE
BRIDE’S WRIST
1. To make a matching ‘good luck’
heart for the bride, use the same
method as for the large heart wreath
but using a 100mm wreath instead.
2. Use strips left over from the large
heart but trimming the strips down
to a length of 10cm. Or if cutting new
strips, cut strips 10cm long by 1cm
wide.
3. Loop a 50cm length of ribbon and
tie the ends to the top point of the
heart. •
