4 A 71-year-old man presents with an exquisitely pa<strong>in</strong>ful punched-out ulcer on<br />

the tip of the right big toe. On exam<strong>in</strong>ation, the surround<strong>in</strong>g area is cold.<br />

5 A 58-year-old person with diabetes presents with a pa<strong>in</strong>less punched-out ulcer<br />

on the sole of the right foot. The surround<strong>in</strong>g area has reduced pa<strong>in</strong> sensation.<br />
