1 A 56-year-old woman compla<strong>in</strong>s of unilateral stabb<strong>in</strong>g pa<strong>in</strong> on the surface of<br />

her scalp and around her eye. The pa<strong>in</strong> is precipitated by wash<strong>in</strong>g or touch<strong>in</strong>g<br />

the specific area.<br />

2 A 28-year-old woman compla<strong>in</strong>s of headache and double vision which is worse<br />

when ly<strong>in</strong>g down. Exam<strong>in</strong>ation reveals papilloedema but no focal signs. There<br />

are no abnormal f<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>gs on CT.<br />

3 A 30-year-old man compla<strong>in</strong>s of a dull headache that is worse when ly<strong>in</strong>g down<br />

or when cough<strong>in</strong>g. He has recently suffered a seizure.<br />

4 A 65-year-old woman compla<strong>in</strong>s of a constant ach<strong>in</strong>g pa<strong>in</strong> around the right eye<br />

radiat<strong>in</strong>g to the forehead. There is reduced vision <strong>in</strong> the eye, which is red and<br />

congested with a dilated pupil.<br />

5 A 70-year-old woman compla<strong>in</strong>s of headache, drows<strong>in</strong>ess and unstead<strong>in</strong>ess over<br />

the last couple of days. On exam<strong>in</strong>ation she is found to have papilloedema. She<br />

remembers fall<strong>in</strong>g over 3 weeks ago.<br />
