Amper, in its commitment to innovation as a fundamental value to acquire the
development of products and differential services with which to compete with the major
companies in the sector, both in the national and the international markets, develops
an active policy of promotion of R & D + innovation activities.
Amper has allocated to these operations 12.6 Million Euros, on a consolidated level,
and it has dedicated the efforts of 155 people from among all its subsidiaries. This
investment focuses on those areas in which Amper sees a clear potential in the
medium and long term development in the existing clients as well as in new markets.
To accomplish this, Amper not only seeks to improve its existing portfolio but it also
seeks the generation of new products and services in the areas of Command and
Control Systems, Emergency Services Management Systems, Border Protection
Systems, Cryptosystems and access to telecommunications services from areas with a
low population density.
These projects possess a dual technology approach, i.e., they are applicable both in
the civil as well as the military sphere. This enables us to be on the technological
cutting edge and to address a large number of markets.
Products like the ne.on family of command and control systems, simulation or the
nemesis family of border surveillance systems, emergency services management
and mobility have already been exported to countries such as Switzerland, France,
Serbia, Estonia, Chile, Mexico, Argentina, United Arab Emirates, etc. During the 2011
financial year, we continued to invest in adding new capabilities from the ne.on
family which are anticipated as an essential complement in the command and control
systems in the coming years, especially in the areas of planning and the integration of
sensors. An investment has been made in the area of communications leading to the
production of high added value products which simplify field operation and can be
marketed after the upcoming year.
In the longer term policy focused on the training in new technologies, continued
investment in projects which are addressed in consortium is made and which has
external funding, among which we can highlight the following:
• INTEGRA. This is a national project on the Control of Unregulated
Borders. It has an overall budget of 28.4 Million. Amper leads a consortium
of companies in which it has a participation of 31% therein. It is subsidised
by the CENIT Programme with 50% funding. The main objective of
INTEGRA is to raise the state of art of the technology, basis on which to
settle the comprehensive management of migratory movements with a
global outlook of the problem and an approach to a European solution.
Amper Systems leads the activities intended for the control of unregulated
borders, both land and sea, and is actively involved in the remaining
operations of the project.
• TECAMIS+. Technologies to improve crisis management in complex
scenarios. It entails an investment of 8 Million Euros over the next 3 years.
11% is subsidised and 50% is funded. For the TECAMIS project, the
Amper group has united three of its companies (Epicom, Amper
Programmes and Amper Systems), together with strategic partners in the
sector for the development of a new model of modular architecture
