2.1.1.7 Context of the program<br />
Asked to assess the importance of the program on a scale<br />
from 0 (not important at all) to 4 (very important) in relation<br />
to the overall economic/industrial development strategy<br />
and in relation to other R&D/innovation programs the program<br />
authority assigned a 3 to each of the two dimensions<br />
(see table below). Being an element of the overall national<br />
development strategy the program is an important element<br />
of the Danish economic and R&D support policy.<br />

Although the program is of high importance in the context<br />
of overall policies its coordination with other programs is<br />
rather suboptimal. Asked about the coordination of the cluster<br />
programs with other support programs of the country<br />
program officials indicated that it is rather weak (see figure<br />
