Chapter 8: Preparing an RT node<br />

4. Format the hard/flash disk by entering:<br />

format c: /u<br />

5. Run the RT setup program by entering:<br />

rtsetup c: 1<br />

where c: is the drive and 1 is the partition number.<br />

6. Copy the contents of Installation Floppy 1 and Installation Floppy 2 (created<br />

earlier) to the hard/flash disk:<br />

A. Insert Installation Floppy 1, prepared by the batch file, into the floppy drive<br />

and then enter this command to copy the floppy disk’s contents to the hard/<br />

flash disk:<br />

copy *.* c:<br />

B. Insert Installation Floppy 2, prepared by the batch file, into the floppy drive<br />

and then enter this command to copy the floppy disk’s contents to the hard/<br />

flash disk:<br />

copy *.* c:<br />

C. Remove the floppy disk and reboot the system.<br />

The system reboots and loads the INtime software’s remote RT kernel and<br />

system applications. The RT node can now communicate with the<br />

Windows host.<br />

Special requirements for Flash disks<br />

• Ensure that DOS can detect the flash disk as the C: drive.<br />

• Ensure that you can format and fdisk the flash disk from DOS.<br />

• Ensure that these basic ROM BIOS functions are available:<br />

• INT 13H (disk I/O)<br />

• INT 15H (Extended memory access)<br />

• INT 10H (video)<br />
