Figures E–1 through E–14 are examples of authority lines <strong>and</strong> signature blocks for correspondence.<br />
E–2. Abbreviated titles<br />
Abbreviate long or two-line titles in a signature block on military correspondence only when the abbreviation agrees<br />
with AR 310–50 or an American st<strong>and</strong>ard dictionary. The fully abbreviated form of signature blocks, as shown in<br />
figure E–12, should not be restricted to informal correspondence.<br />
E–3. Unabbreviated titles<br />
Titles in signature blocks that cannot be logically abbreviated may be typed on two lines or, if necessary, on three lines<br />
as shown in figure E–13.<br />
E–4. NCO signature blocks<br />
Examples of correctly prepared NCO signature blocks of official correspondence are shown in figure E–14.<br />
