Abbreviations may be used to designate parts of publications mentioned in parentheses, brackets, footnotes, lists of<br />

references, <strong>and</strong> tables, <strong>and</strong> followed by figures, letters, or Roman numerals. The single abbreviation indicates either the<br />

singular or plural of the abbreviated word, for example, para—paragraph, paragraphs:<br />
