of several collected volumes, including the extensive collection Security in Southeastern<br />
Europe (The Management Centre: Belgrade). He was Director of the Institute of<br />
International Politics and Economics, Editor-in-Chief of The Review of International<br />
Affairs, the oldest international relations journal in southeastern Europe, and briefly an<br />
Ambassador at the Directorate for Europe in the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He<br />
now works at the Institute of International Politics and Economics and teaches extensively.<br />
Panagiota Manoli is Director of Studies and Research at the International Centre for<br />
Black Sea Studies (<strong>ICBSS</strong>). She holds a first degree from the University of Athens and<br />
an MA and PhD from the University of Warwick. She worked previously as Secretary of<br />
the Economic Affairs Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic<br />
Cooperation (professional post) based in Istanbul. For several years she was a Research<br />
Fellow of the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP). Since<br />
October 2006 she is guest lecturer at the Department of Mediterranean Studies, in the<br />
University of the Aegean, Rhodes.<br />
Ambassador Nicolae Micu is Editor-in-Chief of the Romanian Journal of International<br />
and Regional Studies, EURISC/IRSI, Romania; He is currently also an Associate Professor<br />
teaching Theory and Practice of Diplomatic Service at the National School of Political<br />
Science and Administration in Bucharest.<br />
Igor Munteanu is a PhD in Law and MA in Political Sciences. In 1996, he established<br />
a think tank, which emerged as a specialized public research institute, the Institute for<br />
Development and Social Initiatives (IDIS) “Viitorul”. Since 1996, Igor Munteanu served<br />
as senior expert in several international and national research projects, with specific<br />
expertise in: public policy elaboration, regional development, political research,<br />
comparative studies (i.e. national minorities, foreign policy, social transition, economic<br />
development). Igor Munteanu has written and edited several publications in Moldova<br />
and abroad. He is a free-lance author in national and international press, and was a<br />
Political Commentator on Radio Free Europe (1997 – 2005).<br />
Elkhan Nuriyev, currently Professor of Political Science at Western University in Baku,<br />
Azerbaijan, served as DAAD/OSI Research Fellow in the German Institute for International<br />
and Security Affairs (Berlin, 2005/2006), Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow in<br />
the Peace Research Institute (Bonn, 2000-2002/2003), and J. William Fulbright Research<br />
Fellow at George Washington University (Washington, DC, 1996-1997). He is the author<br />
