Ambassador at the Directorate for Europe in the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He
now works at the Institute of International Politics and Economics and teaches extensively.
Panagiota Manoli is Director of Studies and Research at the International Centre for
Black Sea Studies (ICBSS). She holds a first degree from the University of Athens and
an MA and PhD from the University of Warwick. She worked previously as Secretary of
the Economic Affairs Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic
Cooperation (professional post) based in Istanbul. For several years she was a Research
Fellow of the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP). Since
October 2006 she is guest lecturer at the Department of Mediterranean Studies, in the
University of the Aegean, Rhodes.
Ambassador Nicolae Micu is Editor-in-Chief of the Romanian Journal of International
and Regional Studies, EURISC/IRSI, Romania; He is currently also an Associate Professor
teaching Theory and Practice of Diplomatic Service at the National School of Political
Science and Administration in Bucharest.
Igor Munteanu is a PhD in Law and MA in Political Sciences. In 1996, he established
a think tank, which emerged as a specialized public research institute, the Institute for
Development and Social Initiatives (IDIS) “Viitorul”. Since 1996, Igor Munteanu served
as senior expert in several international and national research projects, with specific
expertise in: public policy elaboration, regional development, political research,
comparative studies (i.e. national minorities, foreign policy, social transition, economic
development). Igor Munteanu has written and edited several publications in Moldova
and abroad. He is a free-lance author in national and international press, and was a
Political Commentator on Radio Free Europe (1997 – 2005).
Elkhan Nuriyev, currently Professor of Political Science at Western University in Baku,
Azerbaijan, served as DAAD/OSI Research Fellow in the German Institute for International
and Security Affairs (Berlin, 2005/2006), Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow in
the Peace Research Institute (Bonn, 2000-2002/2003), and J. William Fulbright Research
Fellow at George Washington University (Washington, DC, 1996-1997). He is the author
