Grigoriy Perepelytsia is Director of the Foreign Policy Research Institute of the Diplomatic<br />
Academy in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. He holds a PhD in political sciences.<br />
Born on August, 13th, 1953 in Ukraine, he graduated the Senior Navy School in 1976<br />
and the Defense Academy in 1984. From 1992 to 1995, he headed an analytical group<br />
at the Center for Strategic Studies of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<br />
In 1995, he became Head of the Military Policy Department at the National Institute for<br />
Strategic Studies. In 2003, he took the post as Deputy Director of the National Institute<br />
for Strategic Studies, and from 2006, as Director of the Foreign Policy Research Institute.<br />
He is also a professor of the Institute of international Relations at the Kyiv National<br />
University. He is known in Ukraine and abroad as an expert on foreign and security<br />
policy, and is the author of over 50 scientific publications and books. Among his most<br />
recent books are The Denuclearized Status and National Security in Ukraine, Military<br />
security of Ukraine, Conflicts in the post-communist Europe ( äiev: Stilos Press, 2003.),<br />
Genesis of conflicts on European post-communist space, Ukraine on a way to NATO<br />
(äiev: Stilos Press, 2004.), Asymmetrical relations; Other publications: ‘The Belarus<br />
Factor in the European policy of Ukraine.’, in the book Independent Belarus: Domestic<br />

Styopa Safaryan has been elected a Deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic<br />
of Armenia on parliamentary elections of 12 May 2007. He is Secretary of the “Heritage”<br />
faction. Since 2005 Mr. Safaryan has been the Director of Research of the Armenian<br />
Center for National and International Studies. From 2002 to 2005 he has worked as an<br />
Analyst of Political and Legal Affaires of the same Centre. Between 1998 and 2002 Mr.<br />
Safaryan was Deputy Head of “State Principles of Administration” and “Legal Principles<br />
of Administration” Departments. Mr. Styopa Safaryan is an author of 4 monographs,<br />
more than 50 articles and co-author of 4 books. He is a visiting lecturer of the Armenian<br />
Academy for Public Administration, European Regional Academy and Yerevan State<br />
University.<br />
Dimitrios Triantaphyllou is Director General of the International Centre for Black Sea<br />
Studies (<strong>ICBSS</strong>) and Assistant Professor of International Relations at the University of<br />
the Aegean in Rhodes. He holds a BA in Political Science and History from the University<br />
of California, Berkeley and an MA and a PhD in International Relations from the Fletcher<br />
