Pokuraamat [The Poku Book]
Elmatar, 2009 (1 st edition 1994) • ISBN 9789985935491
At a first glance, the creatures named ‘Pokus’
look like tufts of sedge. They live their lives
discreetly, are friendly and inquisitive, but they
are very afraid of human beings. The artist and
children’s author Edgar Valter was one of the few
lucky souls who has managed to gain their trust.
His Poku Book tells about the Poku people and
the life and times of the good-natured old Uncle
Puuko at his cabin in the woods.
Pealiskaudsel vaatlusel sarnanevad pokud
tarnamätastega. Oma varjatud elus on nad armsad,
sõbralikud ja uudishimulikud, kuid üpris inimpelglikud
olevused. Kunstnik ja lastekirjanik Edgar Valter
on üks neist vähestest õnnelikest, kes on suutnud
nende usalduse võita. Tema “Pokuraamatust” võib
lugeda pokurahva ja muheda vanataadi Puuko elust
ja askeldustest üksikus metsatalus.
meisterdamine. Ühel päeval leiavad lapsed mesilase
Susumu, kes on pärit Jaapanist. Lotte otsustab oma
