SRAM Backup Memory
An SRAM cassette contains 256k words for backup memory. This area can be partitioned into
four by the user as follows:
Memory card emulation area
Memo pad storage area
Nonvolatile word memory area
Nonvolatile double word memory area
Setting procedure
Choose [SRAM Cassette Setting] from [System Setting]. The [SRAM Cassette Setting]
dialog is displayed.
Specify the number of words for each area of [Memory Card Emulation Area], [Store Area
for Memo Pad], [Nonvolatility Memory (Word)], and [Nonvolatility Memory (DWord)].
Check that the words specified for these areas total 262,016 or less. For more information,
refer to “SRAM cassette area capacity” to be explained later.
[Memory Card Emulation Area]
This area is usable in place of a memory card. 260,992 words are available at the
maximum.
The functions (memory manager and data logging) used with a memory card are also
available. Make the following settings under the V-SFT.
1. Setting of the [Memory Card] dialog displayed from [System Setting]
2. For the data logging function, choose [Buffering Area Setting] from [System Setting],
and choose [Memory Card] for [Store Target].
3. Memory card emulation area formatting.
Setting of the [Memory Card Mode] and the [Format Switch].
(Refer to Chapter 13, “Memory Card Mode” in the “Reference Manual.”)
* The memory card emulation area cannot be used with a memory card.
The ZM recognizes CREC, card interface, and SRAM cassette in the following order:
1. When [Memory Card] is specified for [Modular Jack 1/2] in the [P2] tab window of the
[Other Settings] dialog (displayed from [System Setting]) for establishing connection
with CREC.
2. When an SRAM cassette is attached ([Memory Card Emulation Area] is set in the
[SRAM Cassette Setting] dialog).
3. When a memory card is attached to the ZM equipped with card interface.
