About Battery
The power to expansion memory ZM-80SM/43SM (SRAM cassette) is supplied from the ZM.
If the ZM is OFF or the SRAM cassette is not attached to the ZM, the battery within the
cassette is used for the calendar function and data backup. Therefore, the SRAM card data
is not saved if no power is supplied to the card.
The battery should be replaced at 5-year intervals.
When the battery voltage has dropped, bit 4 of $s167 is set (ON) to give an alarm about
battery replacement. Replace the battery immediately then.

Battery replacement procedure
1Save the SRAM cassette backup data using the ZM-71SE before battery replacement.
Follow the steps below:
• Start the ZM-71SE.
• Click the [Transfer] icon. The [Transfer] dialog is displayed.
• Choose [Display] for [Transfer Device], and [SRAM Data] for [Transfer Data].
To save data on Ethernet from the ZM-71SE on the server, check [Transfer through
Ethernet/IP address of the ZM equipped with SRAM]. Make no setting for [Use
Simulator] and [Read comments in data transfer].
