Shareholders on the register of members with an address in theUnited Kingdom receive dividend payments in sterling, unless they electto be paid in dollars. All other shareholders are paid by cheque in dollars,unless they have previously instructed the Company’s registrar to paydividends by bank transfer to a sterling bank account, or they elect forpayment by cheque in sterling. The Company’s registrar must receiveany such election before the record date of 9 May 2008.Dividends are paid gross without deduction of United Kingdom income tax.Antofagasta plc is not resident in the United Kingdom for tax purposes anddividends paid by Antofagasta are treated the same way as dividendsreceived from any other foreign company.If approved at the Annual General Meeting, the final dividend ofUS 43.4 cents per ordinary share will be paid on 12 June 2008 toshareholders on the register at the close of business on 9 May 2008.The conversion rate for final dividends to be paid in sterling will beset on 13 May 2008.Share CapitalDetails of the Company’s share capital aregiven in Note 28 to the financial statements.London Stock Exchange ListingThe Company’s ordinary shares are listed onthe London Stock Exchange (LSE; companycode: ANTO).
