«Evaluation, Synthesis and Formulation of Proposals for the Use of ICTin the Tourism Sector»7. Proposed Actions per Thematic AreaIn the present chapter proposals for projects and actions in each thematic area are presented. Theseproposals are in agreement with the National Strategic Planning and especially with the “NewSynthetic Document for the Planning of Interventions of the Programmatic Period 2007-2013 in theTourism Sector”. From this agreement, result also the compatibility of proposals with the aiming ofeEurope 2005 and the new initiative of European Union 2010. The existing national strategy for thetourist sector should be improved and supplemented with proposals and ICT actions, focusing on theprovision of new electronic tourist services, so that it corresponds better in the new conditions ofintense international competition.In the present unit, proposals for issues that are already faced in the frame of the existing stateplanning (as an example the unification of tourist information) are not presented, without thatmeaning that these issues are not be taken into account in the determination of actions and in therelative planning of the five year’s Planning of Actions and Interventions that are proposed in the endof the chapter.As it was mentioned in the methodology (chapter 3), the axis in each proposal is reported in the finalrecipient/profited of each action (State, Enterprises, SMEs).Apart from thematic areas, regular field research is considered as essential general action e.g. intourists, for the contribution of information through Internet in their choice. This research is essentialfor the collection of primary information that might afterwards lead to conclusions and may be carriedout by the Observatory for the Information Society in collaboration with the Observatory of Tourism.Version 1Month: December Year: 200764
