«Evaluation, Synthesis and Formulation of Proposals for the Use of ICTin the Tourism Sector»7.3 Thematic Area “Human Resources”The proposals that are formulated in this unit cover many from the requirements in the Axis “Upgradeof Human Resources” of the new Synthetic Document on the Interventions Planning of ProgrammaticPeriod 2007-2013 in the Tourism Sector, concerning the turn to innovative actions that willincorporate the use of modern tools and ICT. More concretely, the proposed actions aim in the directconnection of tourist education and training with the job market. They mainly interest the reformationof the tertiary education level in the sector, the executive’s training of tourist enterprises in ICT thatare used in the sector and the extension of modern education methods in all the spectrum of touristeducation. It is not discussed here the reformation of study programs concerning faculties of OTEK forbigger orientation in the use of technological methods, which is already in development, with theexploitation of actions in the Society of Information 37 .At this frame, the following actions are proposed:• Reformation of study programs in tourist faculties and departments of Higher Education Institutes/ Higher Technological Educational Institutes with emphasis on the import of courses for the ICTusage in the tourism (Axis: State).• Subsidised executive’s training of tourist SME on ICT issues (Axis: Enterprises, more specificallythe SME).• Extension of provided education with e-learning methods in the abroad tourist agents (Axis:State).37 Recent interview of Prof. K.
