«Evaluation, Synthesis and Formulation of Proposals for the Use of ICTin the Tourism Sector»The operation of a constant interdisciplinary network for the study of applied ICT subjects in theGreek tourism serves at the same time a lot of other objectives. As an example, the upgrade of theresearch is expected to have effect in the tourist education and training. The production of inquiringresults, capable to be appeared in international level, can render our country as a world pole oftechnological research in the tourism.Revision of the legal and institutional frame for the creation encouragement of touristclusters and the provision of motives for the attendance of IT enterprises in thoseDescriptionThe objective that is served with the proposed action is the creation of SME’s clusters for the touristenterprises, and the joint acquisition of know-how, the distribution of investment danger and theculture of differentiated marketing picture, adapted in the particular tourist profile of each region.Even if it is related with the aid subjects of small and medium-sized enterprises that are faced withthe proposed projects “Subsidised executive’s training of tourist SME on ICT issues” and “Study on thespecialisation of Developmental Law on aid issues of tourist enterprises for investments in theelectronic tourism”, the present proposal does not have the same character.The target here is the real enterprising attendance of IT companies in tourism clusters for thepromotion of the utilities that come out from existing synergies in an enterprising group. The reason isthat the creation of tourist clusters is difficult to be promoted without pre-existence of these utilities,despite the motives that give as an example the new Developmental Law. Important obstacle is thesuspiciousness of Greek businessmen in the idea of the in-between collaboration in one region.Of course, the proposal does not concern the creation of real enterprising groups, because it is notasked the loss of tourist enterprise’s autonomy. The ideal form is that of a cooperative or aconsortium, where an IT enterprise participates, with profit for all. The profits for the know-howenterprise - institution on ICT issues could be for example tax exemptions. The profits for thecooperative members would be the acquisition of know-how and the access in technological solutionswith cost prices. The proposed action presupposes a dialogue between State and social partners forthe agreement of solution that would also ensure the independence of tourist enterprises.
