«Evaluation, Synthesis and Formulation of Proposals for the Use of ICTin the Tourism Sector»7.4 Thematic Area “Synergies and Collaborations”The proposed actions in this unit serve objectives that cannot include themselves in the previousones, that is to say collaboration subjects between tourist enterprises and contribution of academicresearch in the Greek practice.The connection of academic research with Greek reality is a constant demand of tourism sector, asemerged from the common discussions. For the development of tourist clusters, the governing lines ofAxis “Aid of business entrepreneurship and extraversion, productive reconstruction of the country” ofthe new Synthetic Document on the Interventions Planning of Programmatic Period 2007-2013 in theTourism Sector are followed. In the above, it is expressly reported the growth of collaborationnetworks between tourist enterprises “and between these and the remaining enterprises” targeting atthe growth of competitive new services, the creation of economies of scale and synergies, thepromotion of the technological and organisational innovation, the diffusion of good practices, themanagement of tourist growth etc. The relative proposal concerns the encouragement of attendanceof other know-how enterprises - institutions in these synergistic forms.In this framework, the following actions are proposed:• Development of an interdisciplinary network for the study of applied subjects concerning the ICTusage in Greek tourism (Axis: State).• Revision of the legal and institutional frame for the creation encouragement of tourist clusters andthe provision of motives for the attendance of IT enterprises in those (Axis: Enterprises, morespecifically the SME).Version 1Month: December Year: 200785
